Lady Bulldogs skirts past West Jones

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Lady Bulldogs collected 20 hits and West Jones had 15.

In the second inning, West Jones got their offense started. An error scored one run for West Jones.

Lady Bulldogs took the lead for good with ten runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Lady Bulldogs scored on a stolen base during Sydney Goodman’s at bat. Then Goodman singled , driving in one, Chloe Litchfield singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, Emma Herrington singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Haley Stockman singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, Kaitlynn Stroud homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs, and Sydney Goodman singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

West Jones scored four runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by West Jones was led by Madi Waters and Morgan Pruitt, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Emma Herrington led the Lady Bulldogs to victory in the pitcher's circle. She surrendered eight runs on 12 hits over seven innings, striking out eight.

Mattie Hodge took the loss for West Jones. She lasted five innings, allowing 16 hits and 14 runs while striking out six.

Lady Bulldogs tallied one home run on the day. Kaitlynn Stoud went yard in the fifth inning.

Lady Bulldogs collected 20 hits on the day.  StroudStockmanHerringtonGoodmanMaycee Knight, and Litchfield each collected multiple hits for Lady Bulldogs. Stroud went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Lady Bulldogs in hits.
